(But Definitely Should)
Thinking about moving to the Chagrin Valley? Fantastic choice—this east-side gem is one of the most sought-after areas in the Cleveland real estate market. But before you pack the moving truck and head for Chagrin Falls, Bainbridge, Auburn or South Russell, here are four things you might not know… but absolutely will appreciate.
1. You Will Become Weirdly Invested in the Waterfalls
You might think, “Sure, waterfalls are pretty.” But after you move here, you’ll start talking about them like they’re part of your family. You’ll take guests there. You’ll take photos of them. You’ll take seasonal photos of them. Welcome to Chagrin Falls Village, where the falls are everyone’s favorite celebrity.
2. Be Careful about Saying You “Live in Chagrin” if You Really Don’t!
Several areas are considered the Chagrin Valley—Auburn & Bainbridge Township, Russell and South Russell and Moreland Hills to name a few. But residents of Chagrin Falls Village and Township are very proud of ACTUALLY living in Chagrin and will call you out on it!
3. You’ll Become a Weather Expert
Even if you don’t have school-aged kids, you’ll quickly understand why locals watch snow forecasts like it’s the Super Bowl. Lake Effect can cancel school, delay school, or do absolutely nothing. Either way, you’ll hear about it at Heinen’s.
4. You’ll Never Run Out of Community Events
From Blossom Music Center concerts, to the Chagrin Documentary Film Festival to local farmers markets and fairs, you can stay booked all year. And yes, you will run into someone you know—because the Chagrin Valley feels smaller (in a good way) than it looks on the map.
The Chagrin Valley is charming, connected, and full of character. If you want a community with heart, top schools, and beautiful neighborhoods, you’ll fit right in—and I’m here to help you navigate every step of your move.
